Why LVP fits Pontiac life
Luxury vinyl plank has a waterproof core, so a tracked-in snowmelt puddle or a spilled pot of water does not seep into the floor. For a house where boots, dogs, and kids go in and out all winter, that peace of mind is the main selling point.
It also looks like wood. Modern planks have convincing grain and texture, so you can get an oak or walnut look in a kitchen or a basement without the worry real wood would bring. We have installed it in living rooms, hallways, basements, and offices, and customers notice how clean it looks.

Basements and lower levels
Many Pontiac homes have a basement that is finished, or that you wish was. Concrete down there can hold a bit of moisture after heavy rain. LVP is one of the safest choices for those rooms because the planks do not soak up water.
We check the slab, flatten rough spots, and talk about a moisture plan before we install. If a basement has a real water problem, we will tell you to fix that first. A new floor will not cure a leak.

Typical LVP costs in Pontiac
Across Metro Detroit, luxury vinyl plank installed typically runs about $5 to $10 per square foot, based on plank thickness, wear layer, and how much prep the floor needs. Thicker, more rigid planks cost more but feel more solid underfoot.
Those are typical ranges. Your written quote after the free in-home estimate sets the real number, and removal of the old floor is included in it. Stairs, patterns like herringbone, and leveling are itemized, so nothing is hidden.

Open layouts, stairs, and custom touches
One advantage of LVP is how well it runs through a big open space. We can carry the same plank from the kitchen through the living room and hall with clean transitions. If you want something more custom, we do herringbone layouts and stair wraps as well.
Stairs are worth a look. A matching stair wrap ties the whole level together. See our vinyl stairs page, or the full luxury vinyl plank overview for more product detail.

How the install works
It starts with a free in-home estimate. We measure, test the subfloor, and bring a few plank samples to your door. Once you pick, we schedule a day. We remove the old floor, prep, install, and add trim and transitions.
Most LVP jobs finish in one day. We haul away the debris, sweep up, and walk through the finished floor with you. If the job is bigger, we will say so before we start.
