A wood staircase sets the tone for the whole entry. BRC Flooring fits hardwood treads and risers in homes around Metro Detroit, either to match a new floor or to replace worn carpet.
We have installed stair wraps on many staircases, including ones that match wide-plank floors from engineered hardwood.

How we build them
Each tread is measured individually, because old stairs are rarely square. We cut treads, risers, and nosings to fit, glue and fasten them solidly, and finish edges clean. See some work in the gallery.

Safety and wear
Wood stairs are slippery in socks. We can suggest finishes and runners for grip, especially for families with kids and older relatives. In winter, salt and wet boots come in at the front door, so a mat helps.

Matching the rest of the house
Continuous wood from floor to stair looks best when the species and tone line up. Pair this with hardwood flooring, or consider laminate stairs for a lower-cost look. If you would rather have soft steps, see carpet stairs.
