Vinyl that handles a Michigan household

BRC Flooring / 01

Vinyl that handles a Michigan household

Salt off boots, wet snow, a sump pump that works overtime in March. Vinyl takes all of it without swelling or lifting. BRC Flooring installs vinyl in Metro Detroit homes every week, and the family crew that measures your room is the same crew that lays the floor.

We work with three kinds of vinyl: luxury vinyl plank, vinyl floor tiles, and sheet vinyl. Each fits a different room, and we will tell you plainly which one makes sense for yours.

Which vinyl goes where

Which vinyl goes where

Picking the product is mostly picking the room. Here is how we usually steer people.

  • Plank vinyl for living rooms, kitchens, hallways, and finished basements
  • Vinyl tile squares for entries, bathrooms, and patterned or geometric layouts
  • Sheet vinyl for laundry rooms, mudrooms, and rentals where seams are the enemy
  • Stair kits and wraps when you want the staircase to match the landing
Damp basements and old subfloors

BRC Flooring / 03

Damp basements and old subfloors

A lot of Detroit-area houses are 1920s to 1960s brick bungalows and colonials. Their basement slabs hold moisture and their main-floor subfloors are rarely dead flat. That is where vinyl earns its keep, and also where prep matters most.

We check the slab and subfloor at the estimate. If it needs leveling or old flooring has to come out, that is part of the written quote through our floor demolition and prep service, not a surprise on install day.

One crew, usually one day

BRC Flooring / 04

One crew, usually one day

No subcontractors. Carlos Sr. has been installing floors for over 30 years, and Carlos Jr. leads the install with the rest of the family crew. Most vinyl jobs finish in a single day, and we sweep up before we leave.

Your flooring questions, answered

The vinyl itself is, yes. Water can still sneak in at the edges of a room or under a leaking appliance, so we seal perimeters and transitions properly. For basement slabs we also check moisture before we install.

Sometimes. A flat, solid layer can stay in place, but old carpet, damaged boards, and uneven subfloors have to be dealt with first. We tell you at the free estimate. See our installation service for the full process.

Most rooms and many whole floors finish in one day. Large homes, stairs, or heavy prep can run two. We give you the schedule in writing.

Vinyl is better wherever water is a risk, like basements and kitchens. Laminate can be a good value in dry rooms. We will show you samples of both.

We back our installation with a 1-year workmanship warranty. Product warranties come from the manufacturer and we explain them before you sign off.
